A clone of Wolverine developed by Hydra, X23 was designed to be a soulless killer for the group, and was trained to be nothing more than a weapon for the group from a very early age.
Blaming Wolverine for her miserable life, the highly skilled X23 attacked the Institute and attempted to kill Wolverine before she eventually realised that he wasn’t to blame for her ruined childhood – in fact, he didn’t even know she existed.
Wolverine helped her escape and didn’t see her again until he was kidnapped. Escaping, he found X23 roaming the forest, unaware that he’d be used as bait – a tracer left on his boot lead Omega Red and Gauntlet right to them.
X23 turned their own plan on them, using them to find the location of Madame Hydra, the one who made her who she is today. She later blew up Supreme Hydra’s headquarters and was on the run again.
