Out of the two episodes of that premiered, this was immensely better. Not that that's really saying much.

I thought Iron Man was better written and portrayed here than he was in Avengers Assemble, and he's supposed to be the lead in that show! Kinda sad isn't it? And while he may have acted like a jerk during portions of the episode, I think it was justified considering he had to deal with an idiot version of Spider-Man and a meglomaniac employee.

Here's a lesson Ultimate Spider-Man: you don't have to dumb down your characters just to ham-fist a moral into their and the audiences head, and its especially grating when it goes against previous characterization. Remember all those fourth wall moments where Spider-Man reminded us he's super smart? I know I do, because he keeps reminding us even when his actions in other episodes demonstrably prove otherwise.

I thought Swarm was actually kinda cool, especially since he was made out of Spider-Tracers. And I liked the new design for the Spider-Tracers too. It's just a shame they both had to be saddled together on this show. But poor Juggernaut. He was treated just as bad last season in, oddly enough, another episode where Spider-Man acts irresponsibly and creates the villain of the episode.

All in all, I can't say I was looking forward to the return of Ultimate Spider-Man, and this episode didn't really change that.
