Episode #13 - Destiny Unleashed
Directed By: Patrick Archibald
Review:My God, what a crap finale.
The High Evolutionary decides heís had enough of humans. Fair doís, heís been stating his dislike for people since the beginning. The rest of the episode, however, is simply exactly the same as weíve seen in the previous 13 episodes, before a random cliffhanger suddenly emerges from out of nowhere, never to be resolved.
Itís interesting to note the episode is called ďDestiny UnleashedĒ and not ďDestiny Unleashed, Part OneĒ like it was originally slated to be, but to be blunt, the cliffhanger was so poorly done I really donít that it never got resolved. The whole synoptic storyline was never explained, and never really made much sense.
Overall, the series isnít terrible like I originally thought it was back when I first laid eyes upon it. The truth however, is that it is a bad show. Itís drivel, pure and simple. It deserves the endless bashing it receives online, and after watching the series in its entirety, I have full confidence in saying that itís the worst version of Spider-Man Iíve ever seen. Itís screws him up so badly, itís a shame, as it seems they were trying to make him more like his normal, comic book self, but where unable to do so because he was stuck on an alien planet.
If youíre thinking of tracking the series down to see what itís like, my suggestion is that you donít bother. Itís not worth the time. One of the biggest joys I get from this series is that now Iíve done this site, I never, ever have to watch it again.
Watching this just makes me wish we got more of Spider-Man: The Animated Series. Good riddance to Spider-Man Unlimited, I say. Screenshots:
