Wolverine was robbed of his past when Weapon X kidnapped him. His bones where laced with adamantium and was trained to take people out. Logan broke free, remembering nothing because they completely wiped out his memories. He was found by members of Alpha Flight, the Canadian version of The Avenger, and was asked to join their group. He later discovered they where using him as a weapon, and joined Charles Xavier to fight for his X-Men.

Wolverine believed Spider-Man set up his friend. Beast, after agents of the Landon Foundation kidnapped him. After he discovered Spider-Man was innocent, the 2 teamed up to find out what was really happening. After they defeated a mutated Landon, Spider-Man and The X-Men left as friends.
