Episode #19 - The Education Of A Superhero
Written By: Dennis Marks
Music Composed By: John Douglas
If youíve read any of my previous reviews, youíre aware that Iím fond of this show, as are most others who watched it as they grew. If youíre looking for a fun, light hearted action show than I wouldnít hesitate to recommend this show, even though I admit to like Spider-Man: The Animated Series and the recent Spider-Man: The New Animated Series a lot more.
However, I couldnít recommend watching this to even the most hardcore of Spidey fans. Videoman makes his third appearance in the show, which for those keeping count, means he appeared more than any other villain in the show. This version is now a superhero and boy does the episode suffer because of it. I honestly struggled to make it to the end, and by around ĺ of the way through, I shut off the sound and started listening to Snow Patrol. I couldnít wait for this to end. Iíve watched some crap in my time as Webmaster here, but I havenít refused to fully watch anything since the time I fast forward through the first season of Fantastic Four on DVD.
For those not in the know, Videoman was someoneís attempt to cash in on the increasing popularity of Arcades at the time this show was produced, and he was later planned to be featured in the proposed X-Men cartoon that thankfully never got made. Thereís a cool cameo by the mutants at the end of the episode, but thatís about it as far as positives go for this episode.
