Episode #38 - Kingpinned

Peter Parker gets a new job at The Daily Bugle and learns of a villain control a new medicine scam that his Aunt May's involved with! Spider-Man sets out to stop the Kingpin of Crime!

This episode fairs a lot better than last weeks, but the immediately noticeable aspect is that thereís a good 5 or 6 minutes of pure stock footage. Nearly 1/3 of the whole episode is stock footage, and because of the stupid new backgrounds, itís ugly stock footage. When I watch it now, I simply fast-forward it. Itís that bad.

There is one thing I love about this episode, it has a great ďSpider-Man: Year OneĒ tone to it, and the world at large isnít actually aware of Spideyís existence. This episode even gives us Spideyís first meeting with J. Jonah Jameson, Fearless Publisher of The Daily Bugle. It also introduces Kingpin. They didnít do too bad a job with Kingpin, especially considering we hadnít seen Frank Millerís fascinating take on him over in Daredevil yet. He made for a very good thug. The plot with the bomb was pretty good, but it was overshadowed by everything else.

Easily my favourite of the Bashki episodes. I actually made it to the end of this one!
