Episode #7 - Captued By J. Jonah Jameson
Another odd episode of Spider-Man, Captured By J. Jonah Jameson, featuring the very first Spider Slayer robot in all its animated goofiness. The comic this episode was based on was also ludicrously cheesy, which was actually worse here.
I think the major downfall of the episode is the fact that the robot looks a little too harmless, making it difficult to swallow the threat the writing was trying to create. Iím aware this may be the cheapest show in history, but none of the designs were truly atrocious, in this season anyway, which is more than I can say for a lot of the big budget cartoons of today, most of which feature really stupid or bland designs. Both in most cases, unfortunately.
I think the biggest blunder was the machineís hands. I couldnít help but laugh, and not the way this show usually cracks me up. Iíve never asked much from this show, and I know thereís a lot of Spider-Man fans that absolutely loath the show, but Iím not among them.
One of Spideyís worst, unfortunately. Laughably bad at best despite an amazing performance from J. Jonah Jameson. Screenshots:
