Disney XD Debuts New "The Spectacular Spider-Man" Second Season Episode Tonight

A new episode from the second season of the acclaimed The Spectacular Spider-Man animated series debuts tonight on Disney XD.
Disney XD premieres the new The Spectacular Spider-Man second season episode "Subtext" tonight, November 4th, 2009 at 9:00pm (ET/PT) and The Spectacular Spider-Man supervising producer/story editor Greg Weisman says this episode is absolutely jam-packed from beginning to end.
"We've got a great new villain, a lot of advancing sub-plots setting up our season-ending conclusion, a bit of Shakespeare and bravura performances by Steve Blum, Vanessa Marshall and others," says Weisman. "Heck, if the [opening] teaser doesn't grab you in he first two minutes, you have my permission to tune out. Seriously, it's a great teaser!"
Weisman adds that there are also a few surprises in tonight's new episode that lead into the one-hour second season finale of The Spectacular Spider-Man, scheduled to air November 18th, 2009 at 9pm (ET) on Disney XD.
"Keep an eye out for who's calling the shots... and for Hobie Brown!" adds Weisman.
The second season finale for The Spectacular Spider-Man also brings the series to the end of its initial 26-episode order. With both the creative team and fans hoping for more episodes of The Spectacular Spider-Man, Weisman adds that ratings are extremely important for the series right now, with Disney XD keeping a close eye on how The Spectacular Spider-Man performs during the November sweeps ratings period.

"Subtext" is written by Nicole Dubuc and directed by Kevin Altieri. The Spectacular Spider-Man debuts new episodes Wednesdays at 9pm (ET) on Disney XD, with additional episode airings on the network throughout the week.
Please note that The Spectacular Spider-Man will be pre-empted next Wednesday, November 11th, 2009, at 9pm (ET) for holiday-themed programming. The Spectacular Spider-Man will return to Disney XD the following week with the hour-long season finale at 9pm (ET) on Wednesday, November 18th, 2009.
