Marvel Animation Updates - "Marvel Extreme: Wolverine" Debunked, New “Hulk Versus” Information

June 13, 2008 by James Harvey

Eric Rollman, President of Marvel Animation, updates Marvel Animation Age on what Marvel Extreme: Wolverine really is, and provides new information on the upcoming direct-to-video Hulk Versus animated feature.

Recently, rumors have circulated that Marvel is producing an animated feature called Marvel Extreme: Wolverine, based on promotional images seen at the recent 2008 Licensing International Expo in New York City. These rumors are not true. According to Rollman, Marvel Extreme: Wolverine is not an upcoming animated project, but simply a licensing line, and nothing more at this point. Just to reiterate, there is no Marvel Extreme: Wolverine animated project in the works.

Also, Rollman provided Marvel Animation Age with an update on the upcoming direct-to-video Hulk Versus animated feature, slated for a 2009 release. The animated feature will actually be comprised of two short stories, one called Hulk Versus Wolverine, and the other called Hulk Versus Thor. More information on this project will be released soon.

Stay tuned for further updates.
