Episode #12 - Darkness And Light, Part Two Directed By:Ernesto Lopez, Richard Trueblood Music Composed By: Shuki Levy and Kussa Mahchi Animation Services By: Sae Rom Productions Guest Starring: Neal McDonough as Dr. Robert Bruce Banner, Lou Ferrigno as The Hulk, Genie Francis as Betty Ross, John Vernon as General 'Thunderbolt' Ross, Luke Perry as Rick Jones, Kevin Schon as Major Glenn Talbot, Matt Frewer as The Leader, Mark Hamill as Gargoyle and Shadoe Stevens as Doc Samson Review: This episode doesn’t really come anywhere matching the quality of the first part, and once again, the problem is simple to figure out. The Leader is a crap villain. There’s so many things bad about this heel I struggle to find what they did get right. A lacklustre design (after he looked awesome over in Iron Man no less), a horrendously miscast voice and the fact he seemed to be more of a comedy villain, which rarely works when you’re supposed to be the biggest threat in the entire show. The episode in question finally sees the Leader gain the Hulk’s great strength. It was an interesting twist on a story that had a whole lot of potential to go absolutely nowhere, and it was more or less saved by a masterstroke of creativity – by having Hulk attack the Gamma Reactor that made him in the first place. This single scene made the episode for me. There was some good stuff, such as having Lou Ferrigno provide some of The Leader’s line, but the highlight was the inclusion of the Gamma Reactor. This episode wasn’t a bad episode by any means, it’s simply not as good as it’s excellent predecessor. Screenshots:
